Kevin is based near Nottingham and before working
for the Licensing Authority was employed by the British Canoe
Union as the Coaching Development Officer. He holds the highest
qualifications in canoe and kayak related activities and is involved
training and assessing coaches at all levels.
Although an arts graduate, he started work in
outdoor centres in the seventies, initially as a climber and mountaineer,
and all round centre dogsbody, before switching to watersports
as a speciality.
Kevin has a varied experience of the outdoor
community having previously managed centres (including a large
multi-discipline watersports initiative in Northern England) and
worked freelance. He has also coached Competition Kayaking at
top level and has worked as a coaching consultant and trainer
for a large number of outdoor providers.
Kevin is currently involved in paddlesports
coaching, both home and abroad, and is still trying to tick off
his wish-list of paddling locations around the world, when time
allows.
